The Prairie Drive Build is officially complete, and we could not be more excited to share all the details of this incredible home. Our clients trusted us from the minute we met until the very end. This home was a special project for us right here in Grundy Center, and I will treasure it forever.

The Design
When our clients first came to us, they already had the blueprints for the home, but our team took on the space planning and designing of the surfaces, lighting, flooring, hardware, and furnishings. Each client is typically in a slightly different stage of the process when we meet them, but our team can help with every step, including the floor plans, renderings, cabinet elevations, and all the selections.

During the design meetings, we learned that our clients are very well-traveled, so I wanted to include space to showcase their finds from around the world, while also ensuring there was room for additional pieces they would add in the future. Our goal was for this home to have a collected feel, yet still feel refined.

With cabinetry designs executed by Designer Jill Muller of Spahn and Rose Lumber Co., we were able to take the designs and continue space planning the remainder of the home. We loved getting to bring this home to life, right down to the final decor from 319 Decor & Design.
The Construction
With every new build home, we love getting to see the structure take shape, making the space feel more real at every site visit. Because this home was right here in Grundy Center, our team was able to visit the home for each measurement and to answer questions along the way, which only increased our anticipation for the final reveal.
The Home
We are so proud to introduce the Prairie Drive Build, including all the details that make this home feel warm and inviting.

One of the key elements in this home is the lighting. By intentionally designing great scale and dimension, the space feels really grand.
Throughout the entire home, we selected Cortec Pro Wiltshire Oak flooring that adds warmth to the space, while looking and feeling like real hardwood. Another favorite element is the unique quartz and tile selections in the home that really give a custom feel.
We were especially impressed by our clients’ patience as they navigated a few unforeseen circumstances that delayed their move-in date. While none of the setbacks were within our control, we worked quickly to help them find replacements for damaged items—ensuring that their final installation and reveal were well worth the wait.
The Kitchen

Custom Elements
In the kitchen, we designed a few custom elements to add functionality to the home, including hidden pop out outlets in the countertops. When needed, our clients can easily push a button to reveal multiple outlets, but they can also hide them away for a seamless look.
A special element added to the existing cabinetry layout to elevate the space was the pantry hidden behind a seemingly normal cabinet. By blending the cabinet into the remainder of the kitchen, the space feels smooth. We always encourage extra storage space, especially near the kitchen.
Also in the kitchen is a small pass-through door from the garage so our clients can easily place groceries or a variety of items right in their kitchen. This makes unloading cars so much more efficient and feels like a must-have in any new kitchen.

The Living Room
Anchoring the double fireplace are the built-ins, which are one of our favorite elements of the design. We especially love the two-toned wood in the back complemented by gorgeous black cabinets.

The Dining Room

The Library
In the library, we chose to color-drench the walls with Roycroft Bronze Green by Sherwin Williams to bring a bold, moody feel to the room.

The Primary Suite
In the primary suite, we designed a timeless accent wall to add a bit of color and dimension.

We love the tile details in the primary suite bathroom shower that add a bit of interest to the space.

The Bathrooms
Our team loves the wallpaper from York Wallcoverings in the powder room.

The Lower Level
The lower level of the home was designed by Jill Muller of Spahn and Rose. Our team came in to assist with materials, fixtures, and counters to bring an organic feel to the space.

Although the Prairie Drive Build is complete, we will always treasure this home and our clients who trusted our design instincts to bring them a space they truly love.
